Zoë Daab, MMFT, LMFT, VSP

With nearly a decade of experience supporting individuals through trauma, I specialize in working with survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. My background as both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #8232) and a certified Victim Service Provider (VSP #80-7384) has given me a deep understanding of the lasting effects of trauma and the resilience that can emerge through healing. I have extensive training in evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, to help clients process their experiences and move forward. In addition to trauma work, I support clients in navigating life transitions, managing anxiety, and building assertiveness, confidence, and strong boundaries. I'm passionate about helping people create healthier relationships with themselves and others. My approach is warm, nonjudgemental, and collaborative. Whether you're beginning therapy for the first time or returning to deepen your healing, I'd love to work with you.

Initial Consultation - FREE

I offer a complimentary 15-minute consultation call to give us a chance to connect and see if working together feels like a good fit. During this call, we can briefly discuss what you're looking for in therapy, go over scheduling options, and answer any questions you have about my approach or the therapy process. There's no pressure, just an opportunity to explore whether this is the right next step for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the therapy process like?

Your intake session is a 90-minute session that allows us to begin getting to know each other and developing treatment goals. I often administer assessments during the intake appointment to give me a better understanding of symptoms you are experiencing. After your intake session, regular counseling sessions are 50 minutes each. Typically, clients attend sessions weekly. During your sessions, we may process things happening in your daily life, build skills to help you reach your goals, or process past experiences using EMDR. The duration of treatment depends on your needs and goals and is determined collaboratively throughout the treatment process.

Do you accept insurance?

Though I am not accepting insurance at this time, I am able to provide my clients with a superbill. A superbill is a document detailing services rendered that you may submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement of the cost of treatment. Reimbursement depends on your out-of-network benefits. Providing superbills allows me to focus on offering personalized care without the restrictions that often come with insurance plans. This approach gives us more flexibility in treatment decisions, protects your confidentiality, and avoids the need for a mental health diagnosis to receive treatment.

Do you offer telehealth?

Yes, I offer virtual sessions through a HIPPA-secured telehealth platform. Telehealth is a convenient way to access treatment without having to come to a physical office. Research shows telehealth to be as effective as in-person treatment for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a therapy approach that helps people heal from trauma and distressing life experiences. It is a comprehensive treatment that builds resilience through developing skills to navigate present-day challenges, followed by identifying and targeting painful memories from the past for reprocessing. Rather than talking through the memories, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones, to help the brain change how these memories are stored so that they are less overwhelming and disruptive in daily life. EMDR has decades of research supporting it as a gold-standard treatment for PTSD, anxiety, and other emotional challenges.
